Work on a representative section first.
Import a mixed recording into Remove silences. Detect longer gaps, add a little padding and listen to the transitions between speakers. Different microphones and background noise can change what the detector finds.
The multitrack editor can combine separate media, but that does not make silence detection an automatic speaker-aware podcast mixer. Decide which tracks should move together before cutting a project.
Review the conversation, not just the waveform.
- Keep pauses that preserve meaning or comic timing.
- Check interruptions and moments where voices overlap.
- Add a native episode title or visual section cue if this is a video podcast.
- Listen to the beginning and end of every changed passage.
- Export a separate version and keep the editable project and original media.
